Thailand is the only Southeast Asias nation never to have been colonized by European powers. A unified Thai kingdom has existed since the mid-14th century, and was known as Siam until 1939 when it officially changed the name and became the Kingdom of Thailand.
Kingdom of Thailand is a constitutional monarchy whose current head of state is HM Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama X.
