The ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) is a cooperative regional effort to promote the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region as one tourist destination. This annual event involves all the tourism industry sectors of the 10 member nations of ASEAN: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Each year, the hosting of ATF is rotated among the member countries. In 2017, the ATF will be held and hosted in Singapore. This will be the 36th edition of ATF since it’s inauguration in Malaysia in 1981 and the third time in Singapore.
ATF 2017 has slogan ‘Shaping Our Tourism Journey Together’
This theme reflects the continual, collective efforts by ASEAN member states to influence and address various challenges and opportunities, as we jointly develop the tourism industry in Southeast Asian region.
As 2017 is also the 50th Anniversary of the formation of ASEAN, this theme also aptly complements the ‘Visit ASEAN@50: Golden Celebrations’ campaign, as it highlights ASEAN’s efforts in shaping the tourism journey, its development and achievements.”
