Thailand: international arrivals in 2018 reached 34 million

Total international arrivals to Thailand in 12 months of 2018 reached 34,431,489 arrivals, increase 7.53% over the last year of 2017, according to statistics provided by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) at ASEAN Tourism Forum ATF-2019 hosted at Halong Bay, Vietnam.

TOP10 international arrivals to Thailand in 2018 by nationality looks as follows:

1/ China: 9,697,321 visitors (increased 7.86%)
2/ Malaysia: 3,569,736 visitors (increased 15.52%)
3/ Korea: 1,621,237 visitors (increased 4.75%)
4/ Laos: 1,593,971 visitors (increased 4.48%)
5/ Japan: 1,502,111 visitors (increased 6.82%)
6/ India: 1,429,078 visitors (increased 12.03%)
7/ Russia: 1,267,868 visitors (increased 10.33%)
8/ USA: 993,631 visitors (increased 6.37%)
9/ Vietnam: 956,652 visitors (increased 10.18%)
10/ Singapore: 934,504 visitors (increased 3.73%)

Total number of visitors to Thailand in 2018 from East Asia countries over 23 million arrivals, increased 9.21% over the same period last year. International guests from Europe reached 5.9 million arrivals, increased 4.03%, comparing to 2017.

Visitors from the Americas over 4.3 million, increased 3.70%. Tourists to Thailand from Middle East in 2018 reached 683,420 visitors (-6.24%). Visitors from South Asia to Thailand in 2018 over 1.7 million, increased 11.32%.
