Vietnam: international arrivals in 2019 reached 18 million

According to statistics published by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, total number of international tourists to Vietnam in 12 months of 2019 reached 18.008.591 arrivals, increased 16.2% over the last year of 2018.

International visitors to Viet Nam in 12/2019 estimated 1.710.168 arrivals, decreasing 5,5% over 11/2019 and increasing 24,4% over the same period last year.

List of TOP10 international arrivals by nationality to Vietnam in December 2019 looks as follows:

1/ China: 558.432 visitors
2/ Korea: 424.736 visitors
3/ Taiwan: 80.506 visitors
4/ Japan: 79.737 visitors
5/ Malaysia: 70.348 visitors
6/ USA: 62.295 visitors
7/ Russia: 60.877 visitors
8/ Thailand: 58.601 visitors
9/ Singapore: 40.866 visitors
10/ Cambodia: 27.472 visitors

Comparing to the list of TOP10 international arrivals by nationality to Vietnam accrued for 12 months of 2019 year statistics shows rotation between leaders, starting from listing position as high as Top-3:

2/ Korea: 4.290.802 visitors
3/ Japan: 951.962 visitors
4/ Taiwan: 926.744 visitors

Total number of visitors to Vietnam in 2019 from Asia countries over 14 million arrivals. International arrivals from Europe over 2 million.

ATF 2020:
Vietnam National Administration of tourism shared about growth of international arrivals to Vietnam accrued over 18 million in 2019 at the 39th ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF 2020). ATF 2020 was hold between 12-16 January, 2020, in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.
